AGx Technologies expands its product line of photo detectors

Monrovia, Calif. - January 21, 2009 - AGx Technologies, Inc., today announced two hybrid integrated photodiode products that addresses the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Telecom markets.

TPDM integrates a thin film tap with a high sensitivity photodiode for power monitoring in optical systems. Standard devices feature tap ratios of 1%, 2% and 5%. These devices can be used as power monitors in optical cross-connects, ROADMs, protection and restoration systems, optical amplifiers and other optical systems. The integrated functions bring benefits of space efficiency and lower cost for customers.

For FTTH applications using Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) of 1310nm, 1490nm and 1550nm, WPDA combines the functions of a WDM filter and a high sensitivity analog photodiode. This integrated device taps off and converts downstream video signals of 1550nm wavelength at the photodiode while transmitting all other wavelengths. Linear photodiode response up to 3 GHz enables reception of Satellite TV as well as CATV signals.
